Cosmetic Product Safety Assessments (CPSRs) – UK & EU Compliant

If you’re planning to sell cosmetic products or cosmetic ingredients in the UK or EU, a Cosmetic Product Safety Report (CPSR) is a legal requirement. It ensures your formula meets cosmetic safety regulations and is suitable for sale.

We’re pleased to now offer all types of CPSRs, covering everything from simple lip balms to advanced formulations. We’ve refined our process to make assessments faster, more accessible, and better value than ever before.

What Products Can Be Assessed?

You can submit a wide range of cosmetic products for assessment, including (but not limited to):

  • Soaps (Melt & Pour, Cold Process, Hot Process)
  • Bath Bombs, Melts & Truffles
  • Bath & Body Oils
  • Body Lotions, Butters & Creams
  • Haircare Products
  • Face Creams, Oils & Balms
  • Lip Balms
  • Beard Oils & Balms
  • Scrubs & Face Masks

What is a CPSR?

A Cosmetic Product Safety Report (CPSR) is a legally required safety assessment, completed by a qualified chemist, that confirms your product is safe for use. You need a CPSR whether you're creating a product from scratch or customising a base with added fragrances, colours or actives.

Please note: A CPSR does not include product testing, stability checks, or efficacy analysis. You are responsible for ensuring your formula performs as intended and remains stable over time.

New Pricing Structure – Based on Formula Complexity

Our new pricing is based on the number of ingredients in your base formula. This more accurately reflects the time required by the assessor to review, research, and evaluate each ingredient.

You can also add variants to your CPSR for a small additional fee (if they follow specific criteria). Alternatively, we offer discounted bundle packages for up to 5 variants, giving you better value if you're launching a full range.

How Long Does It Take?

Current turnaround time is approximately 6-8 weeks from when we receive your completed submission and documents.

Need Formulation Help First?

If you’re unsure whether your formula is suitable or stable, we strongly recommend using our professional formulation service before submitting for a CPSR.

Our in-house chemist can:

  • Review and optimise your formula
  • Identify potential issues
  • Recommend (or conduct) additional testing like stability or microbiological analysis

This can help ensure your product passes assessment smoothly.
